Morecambe is full of Simple Pleasures
Recently I have seen some amazing photographs of Morecambe on social media.
They show families enjoying themselves down on the beach, children splashing around in our fabulous Morecambe Bay, and eating ice creams while walking along our miles and miles of stunning promenade.
These photos could have easily been taken more than 50 years ago when Morecambe was in its heyday as a go-to seaside resort.
The fact that they were taken recently shows that in 2020, our town has plenty to offer families from Clitheroe who are looking for a summer break close to home.
It has inspired Morecambe BID to launch a campaign called ‘Simple Pleasures‘.
’Simple Pleasures’ is all about switching off the Internet, putting the mobile phone away and coming to Morecambe to dig sandcastles with the kids, walk the dog on the beach and experience the natural beauty of our bay.
With more and more people looking at ‘staycationing’, the seaside is becoming the holiday of choice.
Morecambe is the perfect option for people looking for a short break full of nostalgia, fresh air and simple, pleasurable activities for all the family.
We are fully aware of the present situation and encourage people to follow all relevant measures when visiting our town.
But, while asking visitors to take into account all the current guidance on staying safe, our message this summer is simple.
Come to Morecambe to enjoy its ‘Simple Pleasures’ because it’s the ideal place to have a fantastic, family-friendly and socially-distant holiday.
