Ribble Motor Services was established in June 1919. We will be celebrating the centenary throughout the year but our principal event will be on Sunday, May 26th. This the usual date for our Morecambe vintage bus display and running day but in 2019 it will be bigger and better than ever. The key difference is that we will be basing the event at Morecambe football club which not only gives us a larger area to show off our buses but also gives access to the club’s cafes, bars and display areas.The main features are:-
- display of vintage buses at Morecambe football club
- display of vintage buses on the promenade near the Midland Hotel
- wide range of Ribble buses and coaches on service and display
- vintage buses from former Ribble joint operators
- free bus service from Heysham Village to Carnforth via Morecambe
- other free bus services including ‘mystery tours’ on vintage coaches
- stalls and displays at the football ground
- new book on Ribble will be on sale with author Roger Davies in attendance

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. A celebration to show support by the people of Morecambe, Lancaster and surrounding districts for our Armed Forces.
Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June.
The UK Armed Forces defend the UK and its interests. They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism.
More Music’s annual kite festival Catch the Wind returns. Come along and enjoy beautiful and impressive kites of all shapes and sizes flown by professional kite flyers – or bring your kite and fly it on the beach. There will live music, arts and crafts, street entertainment, stalls and many fun activities to enjoy too.
The First Kick Scooter Collective and the Vespa Club of Morecambe (COG159) will be hosting a rally in our home town for 2019 which has the honour of being a Vespa Club Of Britain signing on event. A favourite on the rally circuit for many years Morecambe is making a welcome return to the scene. 2019 is guaranteed to be bigger and better than previous year's events with the Saturday night returning to The Alhambra (formerly The Carlton). More Music is proud to be part of the community in the West End of Morecambe where they are based. Every year they set up camp round the corner in Regent Park to celebrate our local community through a day of music, singing, dancing, fun and games.
There are workshops and arts activities for young people, adults and families alike.
West End Festival gives you the chance to find out more about the groups and charities working locally who will be showcasing their work at fun and interactive stalls.

The annual Coast to Coast Classic Car Run will take place on Saturday 13th July. The start will be from the Midland Hotel in Morecambe with the finish at Dunsley Hall near Sandsend.
The start and finish may be familiar to regulars but there are many new roads and places to visit this year. The route takes in the Trough of Bowland, Gargrave (for a coffee halt), Pateley Bridge, South Stainley (lunch halt) and on past Castle Howard into the Yorkshire Moors before finishing on the east coast for a Concours and buffett at Dunsley Hall.
The event is open to classic and cherished cars of all ages and navigation is by simple tulip diagrams backed up with written directions.

The Morecambe 1940's Revival is Situated around the Poulton area of Morecambe it is a non political and meant as a fun experience for all those that love or remember the 40's era. All are welcome, British, American, German, Free French, Czech and Polish and any other allied or axis group nationality either civilian or military.
The Saturday night show in the War Memorial hall will be a ticketed event but Saturday and Sunday daytime events in the War Memorial hall are free entry

The Morecambe Carnival has grown into a full festival weekend, an annual celebration of the town and it’s community. And you’re invited! Join us on Morecambe Promenade for the 6th consecutive year – Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th August 2019!
Taking place over two days, MC19 includes the amazing carnival parade, multiple live stages with a huge array of music and performances from acts across the UK as well as the local area, fantastic shows, attractions, rides and competitions for all ages. Plus food and drink, bars as well as arts and craft stalls. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Morecambe Carnival is a free event. No passes or wristbands. All for free.

The UK's premier vintage festival
Deco Publique has co-curated and produced the award-winning Vintage Festival by Hemingway Design's 'Vintage by the Sea' in Morecambe since 2014, helping it become an established name on the UK's cultural events calendar. The festival perfectly showcases Deco Publique's ethos, bringing a high quality programme of participatory performance, art, food, music and markets to Morecambe in a way that intimately integrates with its community and place.
Every September the beautiful seafront provides a stunning backdrop for an exceptional lineup of classic cars, cocktails, vintage and design marketplaces, DJ sets, Best in Show fashion parades, art workshops, street food and walkabout performance. The programme develops every year, with highlights including a Battle-of-Britain Memorial Flypast, a 15 venue art trail, and - a true favourite - The Vintage Pooch Parade!

The Festival goes from strength to strength with a continuing increase in entries. Each year the Festival receives generous support from the business and private sectors.
Each year the programme includes Men’s Fourballs, Men’s and Ladies’ Team Events, an Open Team Event and the 3-Day Festival Trophy.
This Festival Trophy kindly donated by Classic Gifts & Engravers Limited of Morecambe is the prize for the 3-day competition competed as a pair’s combination.
The winners of the 3-Day Bay Festival Trophy 2017 were Chris Greenwood and Stuart Daniels from Alder Root Golf Club.

Wrap up in your warmest clothes and join the magical lantern procession as it makes its way through the West End.
The wonderful lantern procession will begin from Sandylands School at 6pm and will lead back to Alexandra Park where there will be free entertainment, live music and more!
